News: Vickie Remoe is new Girl Ambassador for Save The Children Sierra Leone
A bit of personal news:
If you've been an avid reader of my blog or following me online then you know that the state of girls and girlhood is of grave concern in Sierra Leone.
In every way for every indicator of wellness, education, and for opportunities girls have it worse than boys—this must change.
I wouldn't be who I am today in body, mind, and spirit—leader, advocate, and entrepreneur if not for the fact that my girlhood was preserved and protected in Sierra Leone.
It is my heart’s deepest wish that all girls in Sierra Leone are protected and nurtured like I was so they too can lead, create jobs, and make Sierra Leone famous.
As it is now the girls who thrive in Sierra Leone come from wealth and privilege—this needs to change.
All our girls—those in Bay and those in Pujehun need the same level of protection so they can learn and grow without losing thier childhood to sexual violence, motherhood, and harmful practices.
I am thrilled to announce a new partnership with Save The Children in Sierra Leone, a world-class organization for the protection of child rights—especially vulnerable and at-risk girls, the disabled, and marginalized to bring in a new era for girls in Sierra Leone.
As the new Girl Ambassador in Sierra Leone, I will work and learn work Save the Children to advocate for a better today and tomorrow for all Sierra Leonean girls. If working for girls to thrive is something that is near and dear to you please do get in touch. It will take a village to protect our girls
