Pan and Cook pancakes shine at Accra Food Festival
Saturday Chef Binta and I were at Accra Premium's Accra Food Festival at the Independence Square. Although a Food Festival, I thought the turnout of food eateries was quite low. I had skipped breakfast and lunch in hopes to fill up on food at the festival only to find a limited few. Of those present the one joint that stood out to me was Pan and Cook, a pastry joint making pofferjes (dutch mini pancakes).
I'm not one to B-Line for treats but my good friend Sara Asafu-Adjaye (she is always in the know) had raved about the pancakes on Facebook just a couple weeks ago. When I saw them I was headed there. Man she was right! We tried 3 different variations; the Nutella, the butter, and the plain. I'm telling these pofferjes at Pan and Cook will make cheat day, every day. They are light, warm, and melt in your mouth buttery perfection that everyone should experience at least two times.
At the Pan and Cook stall I was told they would be opening a stand alone outlet at the A & C Mall. I shrieked in delight. Yo! Thats right in my neighborhood.
