This is what a Freetown Birthday looks like
I was going to write a long piece about birthdays and growth but instead I'm going to just upload the photos from my birthday weekend to Sierra Leone.
I am thankful for life and health but most importantly for love. What is life really without love? My parents, my friends, my son, and so many more that I don't know from our community love and support me. I'm a lucky woman.
That being said this was the most interesting of Birthdays. I got food poisoning from a local water bottling company. The water which I believe to have caused my illness, gave me diarrhea, and made me vomit. The photos below where taken about 2 hours after I had vomited my guts out. I made sure not to get any vomit on my clothes or my hair as I heaved into the bin of the women's toilet at one of my favorite local restaurants.
I mean to have been sick the whole day; running a fever, fighting diarrhea, nausea and to look nothing like it means that I am clearly blessed and highly flavored.
